The Club provides good fellowship and a sociable opportunity for members and their guests (who need not be medical practitioners) to enjoy good food, wine and presentations. At each meeting a short Note (ideally 10 minutes or so) is read before supper, and a longer Paper (up to 30 minutes) is presented after supper. Detailed minutes of each meeting are read as part of the business that is discussed during the meal. Notes and Papers should not have medical content and, by general convention, politics and religion are not directly discussed although presentations may be about famous individuals in any field. Six meetings a year are held on the first Wednesday of the month in winter and spring terms. The Burns Night supper is held jointly with the Innominate Club, with each Club hosting in alternate years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
